What is Phins To The West? PTTW is a Regional Parrot Head event that brings together Parrot Heads from all areas of the country to enjoy a week-end of phun and entertainment. When and where is the event held? The 2008 5th annual event is being held on May 2-4, 2008 in Laughlin, Nevada, 80 miles south of Las Vegas. What will the PTTW 2008 event cost me? The cost will vary by the options you choose the package, the method of payment and the number of add-on nights you choose. Below is an idea of what the registraion will cost you.
What makes PTTW different from other Parrot Head events? PTTW was created to be an event that could be hosted by any Parrot Head Club willing to be a partner. Partnering Clubs are the hosts of the event and the intent is to have an event that is owned by no one organization. The event was based on providing a quality week-end for a minimal price. The goal is to offer a High Value for the Dollar. How does PTTW achieve the goals of a Best Value week-end event? PTTW has teamed with the AVI Resort and Casino to offer a week-end event that gives the attendees a full entertainment schedule, food, housing and inexpensive drink prices. The cost of the event has been held to $225 per person, double occupancy. For this sum the attendees receive 2 nights accommodations at the Resort, entertainment, memento package, laminate, 3 meals, and $1.75 Coronas and Margarita's, FREE raffle, slot tournament ($500 payout), gaming lessons and more phun than you can ever imagine. What are the amenities at the Resort? The Resort has a full 3 meal Buffet, 1 restaurant for light dining, a fine Italian restaurant and a fine steakhouse. In addition, there is a fun zone for children that operates throughout the day and evening, a championship 18-hole golf course, RV park, large sand beach, water toy rental, gambling, an on site multi-screen theater and 3 fast food facilities on the property. As for bars, the PHINS event will have those special priced drinks ONLY at our venue sites and if you wish to use the other facilities they have the Arrowweed Lounge with evening entertainment. Is this a family event? The Resort does offer a fun zone for children that operates throughout the day and evening. However, due to the nature of the Casino and the entertainment, Phins To The West is considered an Adult event. How big is the PTTW event? This is the 5th Annual event. In the past year's the event has attracted well over 600+ people. Is there a limit on the number of registrations being taken? The event has never put a limit on the registrations. With 455 rooms we have been able to comfortably accommodate all attendees. What is the entertainment for the event? Each year the PTTW committee attempts to bring in new entertainers to provide a cross section of the Parrot Head nation. We have some regional favorites that have found a home at this event, but, the search for new and varied entertainment is always on-going. This year's entertainment is currently being negotiated, but, as in the past, we only bring in the best. What other activities are being held during the event? As with all Parrot Head events we will have a Silent Auction and Raffle to raise funds for a few needy organizations. These activities are held on Friday and Saturday during the event and we have had some very wonderful items up for bid. The raffle will be FREE this year and is part of your registration package. Tickets will be provided in your registration package when you sign in at the hotel. Another event that has been planned for 2008 is a Kayak trip down the Colorado River. Since we have so many of our Parrothead phriends makeing a vacation of this event, we have decided to give them some activities and additional entertainment. The Kayak trip will cost $50 per person and will include a meal and entertainment. We will also offer an option for all except the Kayak trip.
